Mooringman and Senior Mooringman

Scope of the training:

1. Cooperation with the Port Harbour Master, pilots and the ship’s master.
2. Commands, terminology and signals used by a mooringman.
3. Principles of proper positioning of a mooringman during work.
4. Mooringman’s work tools and their application.
5. Ship mooring operations:
6. Types of knots: Positioning of mooringmen for receiving a vessel, Methods of placing and removing mooring lines on/off bollards – practical exercises, Selected issues related to safe working methods.
7. Port regulations concerning ship mooring.
8. English terminology and phrases related to ship mooring operations.

The training is concluded with a pass in:

• Lectures – test
• Practical exercises – pass in the form of a skills demonstration

Lectures: 8 hours

The classes are conducted by qualified lecturers/trainers with many years of experience.

After successfully passing the internal examination, the participant receives an unlimited-validity certificate of training completion, issued on the basis of §18(2) of the Regulation of the Minister of National Education, authorising the holder to perform the duties of a mooringman or senior mooringman.
